Helma is presently in her 4th year of the Ph. D. program at McGill and Montreal Universities. The title of her dissertation is Social Constructed Gender Binary: Restricting a Healthy Transgender Self-Identity Development and Self-Identity Reformation.
Helma has completed her Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) at McGill University. Her research was on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder associated with Transgenderism and Self-Identity Re-Formation. She has a BA Honours in Psychology, a Nursing Degree and is PTSD certified.
Helma uses an eclectic approach to fit the needs of each individual as she believes that every person is unique.
She empowers her clients to discover and utilize their strengths and find new and effective coping strategies.
